Jamie Margolin, Plant for the Planet veteran and founder of the International youth climate action organization, Zero Hour, spoke before Congress on Wednesday, alongside Greta Thunberg and 2 other youth climate leaders. Jamie has been organizing since she was 14 and is now a senior in high school.

Jamie and Greta before Congress, Wednesday, September 18, 2019

Jamie called attention to the failure of prior generations to be cautious with our resources and to the transparent excuses and empty promises they’ve been given. She and Greta were quick on their feet when a congressman claimed our hands are tied to act on climate because of ‘China’.

“How can you look your kids in the eye and say I couldn’t save the world because China wouldn’t?” they clapped back.

This younger generation, Generation GND as they are rallying to be called, is not going to accept this failure to try. They want real action in the necessary time frame.

Jamie appeared on MSNBC on Thursday, September 19, 2019

“We trust the adults are working to protect our future, lately, they haven’t been holding up their end of the deal.”

She’s right.

We think it’s highly likely that she WILL be a Columbian at Columbia.

We got your back, Jamie.
