Meet Clea Eppelin: Art, Story, and Social Change
Climate Action Families is honored to introduce Clea Eppelin, a Latin American artist, filmmaker, and co-founder of the art collective Love & Anxiety, as one of the creative leaders in our upcoming Sense of Belonging workshop.
Born in Chile and raised in Costa Rica in a family of designers and photographers, Clea grew up surrounded by art, critical thinking, and creativity. That foundation grew into a lifelong passion for storytelling through many mediums- film, photography, illustration, collage, and mixed media. Her films have been celebrated across Latin America and internationally, winning awards at festivals in Costa Rica, Cuba, and Spain, and screening at world stages like the Berlinale Talent Campus in Germany. Most recently, her feature-length documentary Órbita has premiered at major international film festivals, continuing her exploration of memory, identity, and culture on a global scale.
What makes Clea’s work so powerful is not only her artistic vision, but also her commitment to collaboration and community. Whether through filmmaking, illustration, or collective projects, she seeks to raise awareness, amplify marginalized voices, and connect art to social and climate justice.
In the Sense of Belonging workshop, Clea will bring her creative lens and collaborative spirit to help participants explore belonging through her art. Her practice shows us how creativity can be a tool for reflection, resilience, and building community in the face of global challenges.
We are thrilled to welcome Clea into the CAF community, and can’t wait to see how her artistry and perspective will help spark imagination, connection, and a deeper sense of belonging.
