No Borders in Justice

We stand in deep and unwavering solidarity with immigrant communities facing escalating threats, fear tactics, and unjust detentions. This is not just about immigration enforcement. This is about power, control, and the erosion of fundamental rights.

As an organization rooted in justice and committed to building a livable, equitable future for all, we are horrified by ICE’s continued efforts to criminalize migration, separate families, and erode basic human rights. We find these actions morally indefensible. They are designed to divide us when what we desperately need is unity in our shared struggle for survival, safety, and climate justice.

We choose another path.

In May, we walked alongside our immigrant friends and neighbors in the Immigrant Prayerwalk from Ballard to Daybreak Star, bearing witness to the sacred stories, dances, and strength of those who cross borders seeking safety and belonging.

In June, we celebrated the beauty of immigration at the Fremont Solstice Parade in coalition with our close partners at Chiapas Education Project, 350 Seattle, and more.

In August, we are offering a learning experience called A Sense of Belonging to help young people gain compassion and respect for those in the migration transition.

Climate collapse will only intensify global displacement, and any vision for a livable future must include the full humanity, safety, and rights of those who move. If we hope to solve the most urgent crises of our time, we need every voice, every hand, every heart, young and old, fully present and protected. The only people with a moral high ground in the most critical questions humanity must face are the children, and they are listening and watching, and a fair number are already putting their lives on the line.

Let us not be passive witnesses. Let us be a shield. Let us be a choir of voices rising in defense of those under attack. Let us be builders of the better world they deserve.
